1% For the Planet X The Marine Diaries.

A global movement partnership

1% for the Planet is a global movement dedicated to tackling the most pressing environmental issues. They aim to match their members with non-profit partners to forge powerful partnerships focusing their efforts on building support for crucial work in 6 key environmental areas: food, climate, land, pollution, water and wildlife.

We have recently become members of 1% for the Planet association, we have partnered with a not-for-profit organisation and committed to giving them 1% of gross sales each year through a variety of support. Our environmental non-profit partner works to advocate, conserve, steward, educate and activate to create a healthy, vibrant future for our planet. We have partnered with 'The Marine Diaries' whose aim is to educate the public on ocean issues and promote behavioural change.

An 8-module course focusing on 9 ecosystems

As bespoke eLearning specialists, we are helping The Marine Diaries convert their online content into an eLearning course. Our aim is to present this information in a way that’s visually appealing and engaging to members of the public. We are still very much in the process of designing this 8-module course which focuses on nine marine ecosystems:

  1. CORAL REEFS: THE RAINFORESTS OF THE SEA

  2. OPEN OCEAN: THE BIG BLUE

  3. HYDROTHERMAL VENTS: GEYSERS OF THE DEEP

  4. KELP FORESTS: THE SEQUOIAS OF THE SEA

  5. SEAGRASS BEDS: PRAIRIES OF THE SEA

  6. ROCK POOLS: WINDOWS TO THE SEA

  7. MANGROVE FORESTS: THE ROOTS OF THE SEA

  8. SHELLFISH REEFS: FILTERS OF THE SEA

  9. POLAR SEAS: BENEATH THE ICE

“I’ve always been a fan of the great outdoors with all my hobbies involving getting out in the elements. Since becoming a dad I feel an increasing responsibility to ensure we leave the world in a better state than it was given to us so our future generations can enjoy it as we have. I feel lockdown taught us the value of nature and the planet more than ever which is why I was so keen to commit our business to do what we can to give back to the world”
